The question that a lot of consumers are asking; Is there really a difference between the 4mm glass and the 8mm glass mosaic tile? Why, yes there is, Price and thickness. It is a less expensive alternative to go with the 4mm glass tile vs. the 8mm glass tile. Some might say that there is a difference in the vibrance of color, but there is no difference in the look or appearance of the two. The major concern to take into consideration is what you will be using the glass mosaic for.

If you are going to coordinate the glass with a field tile, you need to take into consideration the thickness and the difficulty of installing it with a thicker or thinner product. Not that it is a major issue, most 8mm glass tiles will be the same thickness as most field tile wether it is natural stone or ceramic tile. The use of a 4mm thick glass will just require what is called back butter which means adding more of your setting materials to the back of the tile you are installing. There is no adverse effect to the tile, all you are doing is building out the material to be flush with what ever you are coordinating it with. Now, there is no worry of you are doing a complete project out of glass you will have no issues with thickness.

The other nice thing about glass is you will not have the need for bullnose. Most glass is a clear vibrant glass with the color coming from an attached colored backing on the tile. Unlike ceramic tile, which the ends are not attractive, the sides of the glass is a nice clean edge and attractive from the sides. The only thing you will need to consider is where you start your glass tile for installation. If there is an open end, i would start your installation there, and work towards a corner. That way if a cut is needed to finish the project it will be in a corner and not visible to the naked eye. If your project is open on both ends, most tiles are a 1″ x 1″ size so there is usualy room for full size piece to end your run with. Another popular question to ask is what color grout to use. In most applications a simple white or bright white grout is used to accentuate the glass tile. Normally you are adding a glass backsplash to show the vibrant color or wild designs from the glass and the easiest way to show that is with the bright white grout. Most, will think that it will be a stark contrast, but you will be surprised that when everything is said and done it will look beautiful to look at and not to busy.

Other than that why not save money and use the less expensive product and put the extra money some where else! To check out the latest selections of glass visit: www.mytilebacksplash.com

As identity theft cases are on the rise each year, protecting ourselves is a must. We are more cautious about what pieces of our mail we allow into the trash. We consistently shred bills and other private documents.

We do not dare provide personal details over the phone or online. As we take these precautions there is one method of protection that is not new but is proven to reduce identity theft.

Rural locking mailboxes have been around for many years and they offer solid protection against identity theft. There is little worry about ruffians with baseball bats or sticky fingers taking your mail in the night. Instead your mail and packages are safe behind a locked door.

If you are called out of town for an emergency, you do not have to be concerned that your mail is left for prying eyes. Instead you can relax knowing that your mail is safe until your return. Rural mailboxes are great for apartment complexes or duplex tenants. Even a court area at the end of the street can often use this mailbox type.

These mailboxes are not only a great safety choice but they are also long lasting. Aluminum or steel mailboxes can last for many years without the need for replacing. For those who live in independently standing houses there are residential locking mailboxes.

You can find these and many more mailbox models online or through specialty order catalogs. Safe, effective and long lasting locking mailboxes can keep you from becoming one of the 9 million Americans each year that are victims of fraud. If you don’t have a locking mailbox, consider one.

DNA Paternity Testing Facts

If you need to submit samples for DNA Paternity Testing you need to ensure that the company you are using is reliable, accredited and has a reputation within the industry for producing high quality results and where necessary advice on interpretation.

A paternity analysis usually involves taking DNA samples from the child, mother and the purported father. These samples are then analysed and DNA profiles produced from each of the 3 donors. The DNA Paternity results are a series of bands, which represent the different regions of DNA which are analysed within the testing protocol. Given that DNA is inherited, with half coming from the father and half from the mother, any two bands within the childs profile will follow ths pattern of inheritance. We can use this information to compare the childs profile to the mother and purported father to see if we have a ‘match’.

If a purported father is not the true biological father of the child, this will be very clearly evident from the profile obtained. This exclusion is 100% and there can be no doubt in the result as long as good laboratory practice has been followed, and the authenticity of the source of samples is guaranteed. If on the other hand half the components in a childs profile match the components present in the fathers samples, a statistic needs to be calculated in order to assess the value of the match. Depending on the company you’ve used and the DNA probes that have been applied to the samples, you’ll get a result that has a certainty level that ranges from 99% to 99.99%.

If you wish to use the DNA test results in court, you need to ensure the paternity dna test kits you use are accepted by the relevant authorities, and that you can demonstrate the continuity of samples from when they were taken to arrival at the testing facility. This is a critical requirement and can make the difference between a result being admissable or not.

Paternity testing is a complex area, and you need to ensure you are well informed before you submit you samples to a company, where the outcome could genuinely be life changing. Click on any of the links in this article for more information.

Sell Your House Through a Private Property Sale

It seems that lately not a day goes by without some new financial crisis hitting the world markets. Just the other day we saw the failure of the Lehman Brothers, one of the largest investment banks in the United States.

Personally I think they deserved it since the CEO pulled in a $22 million bonus in March this year. Like everything was rosy! Sort of ironic that they were after a 22 million bailout just before they went bust!

Care to help out Mr Fuld? Thought not.

The snag is it affects everyone. The stock markets around the globe reacted in confusion to this latest crash and the economies of many countries have had a titanic cash injection to help try to weather the storm.

But this is just the beginning. Many were forecasting AIG to be the next disaster (now bailed out) and the massive Washington Mutual are not doing well. Even if these two colossal institutions go down chances are it will not stop the rot. The Dow Jones is in reality still very close to its all-time highs meaning it has a lot further to fall!

All this helps to stifle the confidence of the consumer affecting everything from the amount we spend on groceries to how much we are prepared to pay for a house. Speaking of the housing market, real estate agents and all the businesses which rely on the housing sector are experiencing very tough times indeed. One of the many reasons estate agents are in so much trouble is because many people have understood they can use the net to sell their home privately avoiding paying the agents their fees.

In fact if you want to quickly sell your house in a general private property sale it has never been easier. A quick search on google will turn up literally hundreds of portals where you can advertise your house privately. It’s a very keen thing to do which could salvage you many thousands. Something well worth doing these days!

Capstar to kill fleas on dogs and cats

There is a new product on the market to kill fleas. Although it is not a cure-all, it certainly does have its place. Advantage for Cats and Dogs and Frontline for cats and dogs both are excellent products, but they cannot be used for tiny puppies, for instance. Contrary to both Advantage and Frontline, Capstar can be used on puppies and kittens down to four weeks of age and as small as two pounds. It appears to have an enormous margin of safety. The same dosage can be used on tiny puppies down to 2 pounds or dogs up to 25 pounds, and a second dosage is used for dogs from 26 all the way up to 125 pounds. That is from a five to 12 fold variation in the dosage.

It is safe, and it is effective. Fully 90% of the fleas will be dead within a couple of hours.

CAPSTAR is an oral tablet. A single dose should kill the adult fleas on your pet. If your pet gets re-infested with fleas, you can safely give another dose as often as once per day. Be sure to buy enough to be able to treat several different days as you get your fleas under control.

To give CAPSTAR Tablets, place the pill directly in your pet’s mouth or hide it in his food. If you hide the pill in food, watch closely to make sure your pet swallows the pill. If you are not sure that your pet took the pill, it is actually safe to give a second pill.

You have to treat all infested pets in the household. Fleas can reproduce on untreated pets and allow infestations to persist. If you have treated the house and yard with an Insect Growth Regulator, the development of new fleas will be over with in less than two weeks.

Capstar for cats is used to control adult fleas on the dogs and cats. The fleas on your pet are in the adult stage. An adult female flea, living on a pet, can lay up to 2,000 eggs in her lifetime. With CAPSTAR, you can kill the adult fleas stopping them from having time to reproduce.
